Enhance Your Tesla with BSD Blind Spot Ambient Light System: Smart Safety Meets Stunning Interior Styling

What is the BSD Blind Spot Ambient Lighting System? - The BSD (Blind Spot Detection) Ambient Light System is not just an aesthetic upgrade—it's a smart, functional enhancement designed exclusively for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y drivers. This system combines real-time blind spot alerts with dynamic RGB ambient lighting that responds to your vehicle’s status in multiple ways. Whether you're accelerating, enabling Autopilot, or cruising at night, this light system transforms your Tesla's interior into a highly responsive, visually immersive cockpit.

With a seamless integration into Tesla’s native systems, it’s the perfect blend of safety, intelligence, and futuristic flair.

Key Features That Set It Apart

1. Blind Spot Visual Alerts

Forget standard mirrors—this system uses ambient lighting on both sides of your dashboard to alert you of vehicles in your blind spot. A red flash signals danger, helping you change lanes with more confidence and awareness.

2. Dynamic Vehicle Behavior Linking

The lights aren’t just decorative. They react in real time to your Tesla’s data:

  • Acceleration Sensitivity: In sport mode, deeper accelerator input triggers brighter or redder light transitions—visually expressing performance.
  • Speed Monitoring: If your speed exceeds preset safety limits, the system flashes a red warning to subtly remind you.
  • Autopilot Activation: A smooth rainbow wave glides through the ambient lights when AP is engaged, creating a futuristic driving experience.

3. Battery Heating Status

When your Tesla’s battery enters its heating phase (especially in cold weather), the red dot matrix in front of the driver remains lit—offering subtle awareness of your EV’s status without dashboard clutter.

4. Full RGB Customization

Packed with over 100 independently controlled RGB lamp beads, the system can be customized using your mobile app or Tesla's original right steering wheel button. Choose from 6 built-in color presets or create your own—tailored to your mood or driving scenario.

Why Tesla Drivers Love This Upgrade

Tesla owners are known for appreciating clean aesthetics, intelligent features, and modular upgrades. This BSD system checks all the boxes:

  • App & Button Control: Whether using the app or steering wheel, you can adjust lighting modes on the fly.
  • Zero-Clutter Installation: Plug-and-play design means no complex wiring or permanent changes.

Installation: Simple and Clean

Installation is streamlined, with pre-designed wiring harnesses and a detailed PDF manual included. Most users can complete it in under an hour without cutting or damaging any OEM wires.

Note: Tesstudio recommends professional installation for those unfamiliar with EV electronics.

I am also having the same issue with this device. Left signal does not blink anymore. The red blindspot does not show too while driving on the left driver side. I hope this is fixable. Also turning off the red blinking limit for speed limit. It’s very annoying and kicks in ways below any over speeding.

My tesstudio led strip is also not displaying the left light indicator and is stuck in long mode (as if it had the longer strip version) and thus the left indicators are past the end of my strip. How do I fix this? I’ve restarted the car (2 steering wheel button press) and have unplugged and replugged the LED strip controller module. No change.
I would also love to disable the annoying over speed indicator. It triggers at 10%. That’s too low.

Thank you!

My BSD ambient light bar that I purchased thru you seems to be stuck in sports mode. I have tried rebooting, and disconnecting the OBDII and reconnecting still stays in sports mode. Everything else works the bsd when door is open directionals work. I read that it may need firmware update. How is that done
Thanks

My left blinker and blind spot light is not working on my BSD Blind Spot Ambient Light System from Tesstudio. It seems to happen on my 2022 Model Y after a Tesla Software update. I’ve heard that it is an issue with the light strip operating in a short mode (instead of a long light strip mode). Is there a reset procedure for it?

Thanks,
