Which amperage should I choose — 32A or 40A?
Choose the amperage that matches your charging station’s rated output. If your Level 2 charger is rated at 32A or below, the 32A cable is sufficient. If your charger supports 40A output and your vehicle’s onboard charger can accept it, choose 40A for faster charging. Never use a cable rated below your charger’s output amperage.
Can I use this with my Tesla?
Yes — if your Tesla uses a J1772 adapter to connect to Level 2 stations (older Tesla models with J1772 port, or using the included Tesla J1772 adapter), this extension cable works seamlessly. For Tesla vehicles with NACS ports, you’ll still need your J1772-to-NACS adapter in addition to this cable.
